  1. Why are you frying in so much deep oil and not cooking in a wok . what type of oil you are using . NO NOT THE POTATOES FLOUR TO MUCH STARCH I might be wrong you will find it in Holland & Barrett which is a health food shop in the UK if you cannot find it then use CORNFLOUR , they you might try the fish batter the same in a FISH AND CHIPS SHOP , Or go to the Chinese supermarket if you can't find it , they find the recipe on the internet I think try this one first

    Your mother is awesome.

    Just wanted to say, corn starch is a good substitute for potato starch in these kind of applications the crispness and flavor is similar when frying, and you can easily make a slurry to thicken sauces with it. Flour won't work for a slurry, because it clumps and It needs longer cook time to get the raw flour taste out and to thicken. It would make the sauce burn. It is readily available in most American grocery stores. (Not corn flour, and not corn meal. It must say corn starch)

  4. Very simple recipe and you two explained it very well. I love the fact of the vegetables. I eat too much red meat and pork so I am always looking for a way to add vegetables in my diet. Tell your mother thank you and I wish her many years of good health.

I LOVE your "Cooking with Mom" videos! She makes the best recipes and they are so simple to make. This one is a winner! I can't wait to try this because I know it will taste 1,000,000 times better than our super red and super sweet "sweet and sour pork", LOL.   6. You can substitute cornstarch for potato starch, but a lot of the big supermarkets in the US do have potato starch in the Asian food section now! It comes in a clear plastic bag. Bob's Red Mill also sells it–that may be in the baking or gluten-free sections of your market.

  7. I have trouble finding certain ingredients in the Midwest of mainland USA. I have been trying to find and instruction using Inarizushi no moto from a can. I found it in an Asian food store here. This is all I have been able to find here. I assume that you don’t have to god through the boiling and seasoning of the pouches. Do you know if you can just use them straight out of the can?
