  1. not sure how this was possible, i followed another recipe and was cooking for four hours turning up heat turning down heat, after four hours it was pea gravel soup, then i made your soup in less than an hour and it was fantastic!  thanks!

  2. @connorsmog Yes, just leave it out. In its place, you might want to add a little drop of Worcestershire or liquid smoke to give it more depth of flavor. But taste it first without to see how you like it. A little salt and white pepper may be all you need.

  3. great! seems easy. Can you make it without the bacon? I'm on a veggie/fruit diet. Would I simple not add the bacon or do I need to substitute it with something else to maintain the consistency?
