  1. Looks awesome!! First time here, and I just finished a super easy vegan split pea soup using carrots, onions, celery, and for seasonings thyme, rosemary and oregano. I love the idea of adding sweet potatoes!! But, I like to keep it as bland as possible too. New sub:-)

  2. this was sooooo yummy!  i put in red bell pepper and green and instead of the yams i put in diced zucchini!  i loved the idea of not needing oil.  however just a little oil give a needed texture, one of the 6 tastes necessary for an excellent meal. sweet, salty, bitter, sour, hot and oil

  3. I just had to tell you that I made this for my husband, who is a die hard split pea soup fan, and myself, who definitely is not, and we both loved it!! He actually said it was the best split pea soup he's ever had!! Our kids weren't huge fans but they've never actually had split pea soup before so it'll take many more times of having it before we know for sure if they like it. Thank you for sharing such a delicious recipe!!

  4. Girl you are awesome! I've been a vegan for a year now and I love it everyday. 🙂 I think the great thing about not adding oil or salt to the food, you really get the true flavors and you start craving it the more you have it.  Just adding spices is key to making the true flavors taste amazing! Great videos!

  5. I'm cooking this for the 3rd time, it's delicious! The only alteration I do make is using regular paprika since I can't seem to find any smoked one in my area. To still have the smoky flavour I simply add some smoked tofu and voilà!

  6. I love the tip about sauteing the veggies in vegetable oil rather than water. I used to sautee the onions in oil but I'm now wondering what is the point?! Thanks for the lovely recipe.

  7. Love this recipe! I have both split peas and sweet potatoes so I'm going to try this. I usually go just creamy or chunky when it comes to soups but great idea to incorporate both.

  8. +Eco-Vegan Gal This looks so amazeballs!  What a great well-rounded, hearty meal!! Come to Momma. Love all the twists you threw in there. And I like seeing smoked paprika being used – a soup recipe I was making from a book called for it once and I was skeptical of it at first, but it totally changed the flavor of the soup and gave it so much depth. Yay for yummy soups!

  9. I'm not much of a sweet-toother, so would probably make this minus the sweet potatoes — maybe w/extra celery. Still, it sounds WONDERFUL, as do all the other recipes. I love learning new recipe combos, and this one would surely please my friends who are still hungering for the sugar fix  🙂 Thanks so much for sharing! You are an angel 🙂

  10. I saw all the soup videos (thanks for sharing) and I have to say that yours is my favorite.  It looks simple, no oil was used, and it looks nice and creamy.  I also love split pea soup so I can't wait to give this a try.

  11. The soup looks very good, but it really scares me when you poured hot liquid in to the plastic Blendtec (according to several scientific studies "BPA-free" Eastman Tritan plastic leaches several very toxic chemicals, including BPA). For more details see my videos – Why I do not use Vitamix…  Vitamix, Blendtec, Ninja and other "BPA-free" plastic blenders made from the same Eastman Tritan plastic.
