  1. Beautiful job Gianni….My family comes from a village an hour from Naples and this is precisely how we prepare this dish! The aroma and taste of this dish is unbelievable. Greetings from Ottawa Canada.

  2. Gianni, I was watching Moonstruck tonight & this dish would have been the perfect accompaniment! I have all the ingredients to makes this except the special olive oil. Thank you & I'm looking forward to watching your YouTube video in June! 😊🌼Joanie

  3. OMG I've got tears – that looks amazing – so making it, but the tomatoes are picked green and ripened off the vine here in winter. Great for the summer harvest ones.

  4. You're awesome! Thank you for sharing your heritage's tastes. I've made a few of your recipes and I look forward to making them over and over again. I'm lucky to find San Marzano tomatoes at a local store near Mount Prospect, Il. They really are DOPE! Take care my friend.

  5. Perfection!!! I just read in one of your comments that when you're in Northern Jersey, you go to the Paterson farmer's market. Do you ever go to Corrado's? You'd love it. Have a great night!

  6. Went to graduate school for many years in Padova, Northern Italy, and at the end, the authorities had to pry us out of our apartment, kicking and screaming. Luckily, my wife and I learned how to properly cook "Italian" before we left, with a lot of help from Marcella Hazan's books, and our neighbors. Which basically is simple, rustic, the freshest and best of everything you can find, and for god's sake, do not embellish. I'm very impressed with several of your videos. So Gianni, help this converted Italian boy, please. Just where does one find fresh "San Marzano" tomatoes in the States? I'm in Atlanta, and the only thing close comes in a can. Auito mi, prego!

  7. Thank you, Gianni. This is now my "go to" summer main dish. Tonight I'm using this sauce in my lasagne. I will always keep the basics in my pantry. In the winter, I'll used the canned DOP tomatoes. So easy, so fabulous !!
