  1. Sruthiskitchen: Thank you so much for such wonderful recipes.. :-).. please ignore all the foul comments.. you are doing an amazing job and these recipes help a lot of starters like me. .Thank you again for all your effort!

  2. It might help beginners moreover This is a different version of dal and green leafy vegetable. You want the dal to be cooked till tender and at the same time retain its shape. The tamarind pulp here used is the store bought one so no need to soak the tamarind 🙂 This is my family recipe mostly cooked in south Indian kitchens.

  5. And u have literally served over cooked vegetable here!! If u has cooked ur dal with salt n turmeric before adding to the spinach then it would have worked better.. Plus u should have soaked the tamarind n then added the pulp.

IT should be cooked approximately for about 7 to 10 min covered after adding the palak on low to medium heat, keeping an eye, and stirring the mixture once in a while…. 🙂 Good Luck!!!

Oh no! If u've watched the video I mentioned the time, , but in case u didn't see that, after adding the dal just cook for 2 min and add the palak immediatly.. mix well and cook till the dal and spinach are done, The dal gets done with the moisture that oozed from the palak , make sure u cover and reduce the flame and keep stirring it for every two min. U still should be able to see the dal after cooking, it shouldn't get mashed up… (Cooked but retaining its shape)
