  1. Hi John, as I make my dough in a bread machine, would it be possible for you to give me your recipe, but only using 540g of flour. So what would be the amounts of yeast, salt and water should I use for 540g flour. Thanks. By the way love your videos.

  2. Great tutorial, thanks, John. Question: Do you ever make then with regular whole wheat flour or even white whole wheat flour? I love baguette but I try to bake healthier where possible.

  3. Great video! ….. The only way to improve the baguetts is to take from the oven hot, cut to length, hold cut end up and using a knife remove the center (this can be buttered as cooks treat) and insert a freshly cooked sausage after dribbling sauce of your choice into the hole created! The bread will then expand round the sausage giving the perfect "Hot Dog" !

  4. John I love your videos mate. I've just sat down with my missus and enjoyed a barbecued pulled pork sandwich (with a bowl of chilli on the side) made with the best baguettes Ive ever made thanks to your faultless recipe. Love your manner and your cooking. Looking at your chat I see you've recently had some surgery. Me and Georgie would just like to send you our best wishes for a speedy recovery so hopefully this finds you well and ready to continue your brilliant channel. I've been cooking my whole life and its not often I find recipes that will journey with me, but this is going to be one of them. Over dinner Georgie and I talked about Easter and hot cross buns and we both said…. "I wonder if John has a guide?" I couldn't find one so I guess this would be a very friendly request :-)).
Take care John and keep 'em coming.
P.S… you should do voice overs mate… you would be great.

  6. GREAT BREAD FOR A BREAKFAST. COPIED IT FOR MY FRIEND. THANKS. I HEARD BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL SO I EAT 3 OR 4 OF THEM. I'M 83 STILL RIDING MOTORCYCLE AND SHOVELING SNOW BUT STILL MAKE SURE I EAT A LOT OF FOODS WITH PRESERVATIVES IN THEM.

  7. I just finished making myself some of these baguettes and I'm pretty pleased. I was a little worried at first that mine would turn out looking less like beautiful bread and more like a misshapen mess, but as soon as they started to rise in the over they looked splendid! incredibly easy and straightforwards, I full well intend to make some more in the future. Thanks for the recipe you've made a subscriber out of me.

  8. John I am so happy to have discovered your channel! I have spent soooooo many years trying to make my own baguette at home, and tried so many recipes and techniques, some of which made everything looks so complex and difficult… Your descriptions are straightforward, your video illustrates processes perfectly. Just madde my first baguettes yesterday and am sooooo amazed! This is by far the best baguette I have had in years…. in fact it reminds me of the bread I used to buy from local village baker (they weren't known under fancy names of 'artisan' then… lol) in south of France some 40 years ago! Thank you thank you thak you!!! (I've subscribed and definitely will share your links widely!!!)
