  1. It's that easy?! Thanks for sharing! I was told certain things and sauces couldn't be cooked at home because our stoves dont't get hot enough well now I know I can. I'm vegan. Keep the veggie dishes coming!!!! Yummy.
Oh. Side note: Thanks for the hot oil video too. I live on that stuff.

  2. hahaha. I was just having a conversation with a friend while shopping for food and he pointed me to a giant bag of prepped garlic saying that I needed the five pound bag because he sees me use garlic in EVERYTHING!! and it's true. I use a ton of garlic in all my cooking.

  3. I love watching your cooking show, mike!! Besides I enjoy your travel food blogs, which they are soooooo amazing. I like watching your cooking show too!! Maybe you will make more cooking videos in the future?? 🙂 your fan from Oregon

  4. You are so funny and seem so pleasant, I'm surprised to hear you don't have many friends… but then again what does it matter. Its not the size of your circle, its the quality of it 🙂 now, that looked sooooooo good…. sorry, but I would eat that with meat…… no wait…  Salmon….. my mouth is watering…

  5. Hey Mike I really like to watch your video, but strongly recommend that if you are making video at home about cooking, please upgrade your appliances to stainless steel they look much more sharp

  6. That is the basic way to cook vegetables here in Italy. We just use different flavorings (and different vegetables). Extravirgin olive oil, one or two garlic cloves, a good piece of chilli, toss, in with the vegetables, pinch of salt and that's it. If the vegetables is a bit more hardy, like broccoli, you just add a dash of water and let the vegetables cook lid on until tender. Pair them with a steak, as you did, add eggs and turn them into a frittata, or boil some pasta while you are making the vegetables, drain the pasta, reserving a bit of the cooking water, and dump the pasta and the cooking water in the vegetables, stir for a minute or two and eat. I guess those pea shoots would be great with pasta as well.

  7. i picked some pea shoots at a local farm this weekend.. came home and made this. same way but after i put garlic in oil i put crushed dried chilli flakes then i threw in the pea shoots and salt to taste. yummmmmmm

  8. Thanks for this! I'm vegan and wanting to explore more Asian dishes. Would love more recipe/taste-testing videos that's vegan friendly. I plan to make this with vegan butter and vegetable boullion instead. I'm really looking forward to it.

  9. Lol you don't use CHICKEN boullion in a "vegetarian" dish. 😉👍🏼
(Now you have me paranoid about ordering veggie dishes when I go out to Chinese restauranta… maybe they are cooking in meat stock!!) 😰😰😰

  10. I am vegan and I love asian food. It is kind of hard to find chinese dishes that are animal product free. If I did still eat eggs I would try that tomato stir fry thing. Maybe when I get some vegan egg. 🙂

  11. Mike I love your videos!!! I'm new to your channel , and want to know which can rice cooker you would recommend. I know you answered someone on another video, but could not find it. Also do more cooking videos please. 😁

  12. I want to do this thing where i make my own chinese spread.
i have a lot of recipes but i don't have enough friends to do it and my mom DOES NOT EAT CHINESE at all.

i have one of those small apartment fridges so, not enough room to store it all.

quick question: do you take requests? because if you do can you make that pork dish with the sweet bean paste and scallions and tofu skins. you get it in alot of your videos, I live NOWHERE NEAR new york but i do have a chinese grocery store near me. and i want the recipe, it looks amazing. 😀

  13. oh man! i will do this with my home grown swiss chard, you forgot the hot oil (chile) i'd be happy with this dish and some rice. my mom was born in peru, rice is a staple, many chinese in peru. some of her best recipes were chinese-based. very good for you too! (0 points in weight watchers i'll bet!)
