It's always made with animal rennet; an enzyme that comes from one of the stomachs of slaughtered calves. Grana Padano and Gorgonzola cheeses aren't vegetarian either. Reply Fantastic video thanks Reply My advice to get the most flavour into tofu: Fry it up really well so all sides are really crispy. Then pour over a liquidy marinade to your liking(I love lots of soy sauce, some kind of tangy syrup like pomegranate, a little lime juice and lots of spices like paprika, cumin, coriander, some turmeric and salt and chili). Cover it immediately and let it 'simmer' for a few minutes. You can take it out and fry up other veggies or throw them in with it. The texture reminds me of deepfried tofu. It won't be crispy anymore, but it will have this outer layer and a beautifully soft inside and it will be bursting with all the flavours you put into it. I have never had so much success with traditionally marinading it. I have also never seen anyone do this before. Just try it, it works amazingly.
